  • Wow, I am surprised that that cow with the hip abscess was even alive or standing with that much nasty stuff in her system. Never seen anything like that!

    • that "nasty stuff" is in reality just a mixture of blood and dead neutrophils/PMN's that were used to attempt to fix and infection/injury. Over time it gets broken down by the body unless the infection or injury persist.

Anyone who cares that much about her cows, has fantastic results deserves an award from Her Majesty, The Queen! Oh wait! She already got one! 🤣Just kidding. I hope you can show this to your customer and hopefully implement these systems to make the cows(who make their money for them) the most happy and comfort they can be! Great video!

  • Abby's farm is awesome. And you guys r I hope the new care takes of a beautyful unappreciated cows. They r gentle if u just take a few min to pet and be kind. I was thrown out of a cattle auction, once for physically taking a cattle prod of a monster ,shocking a baby calf and her mother, I broke it, he was doing it for no reason just laughing when the mother almost crushed her baby. Such cruelty will be done to them in hell. But I loved the new holders and the mattresses and the head scratcher. Thank you .

  • I love these videos. It's so valuble to learn about what a cow needs and how small (I do get that it's expensive to change out the old stuff, but if it had been done like this from the start, it wouldn't be so expensive!) changes can make a HUGE difference. I don't work with cows, but I like to think that videoes like this makes me a better consumer becuase I do understand why some of the products are bit a pricier than others, and I can be ok with that when I know that the cows are so much more comfortable.

  • Saw these at a farm open day a few years ago. What we noticed was that because cows can lay at an angle they were closing off the next bed! As a result only half the cows had a bed available and the rest were forced to stand for extended periods resulting in a level of lameness that I would not find acceptable and as a hoof trimmer for you to be plugging these as the answer to hock and leg abscesses (which are mainly caused by bedding issues not cubicles) l find a bit ironic given the far greater number of issues caused by cows standing too long! Go for very comfy mattresses and proper cubicles Tom Pembarton . Not a big hock or marked hook bone on our 200 cows! Robot milked and with a proper grazing system if you want to come and see it Tom

  • these commercial facilities are shit. The owners should be put in jail made from these shit stalls and forced to walk around barefoot for two years. What's wrong with Scotland? Too much inbreeding now you can't make common sense improvements? This video tells the truth about dairy farmers and how cruel they treat their animals all for a pint of milk. Where's the government? Scotland isn't worthy of a good reputation.

  • This info is amazing. I live in Northern Alabama, USA and was reared with cows. We never had hoof issues or absesses on our cows. We had a barn with dirt floors and the cows stayed in the pasture almost all of the time unless there was a need for them to be kept up in the barn. Usually when milking or working with the calves. We were truely blessed to have so few injuries. It was fun to learn about the matteesses for the cows. We just let our cows back out when finished milking. My father would be so interested in all of this info, but he passed in 1977. He used the sales of calves to pay for college tuition for five of us girls. He needed a boy in the worst way, but l was a tom-boy and he had to make due with me. I am 67 now and miss our cows. They were all nice mild cows except for one l named Damn It. You only had to be around her a short time to understand why.
